Sam & Katrina had each recently relocated to a dog friendly apartment complex on the west side of LA. This is where Scully & Rowan ran into each other during a game of fetch creating an excellent meet cute for the future couple. Due to their special dogs, Sam & Katrina ended up spending lots of time building their friendship through walks, hikes, & park visits.

Though they both were crushing on each other for a few months, neither Sam nor Katrina wanted to jeopardize what they knew was a special friendship. Then, one day Katrina decided to "make a move" and they began dating.

Their first trip together was spent with friends in Chicago touring the city and experiencing their first Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Even with Sam in a boot, due to an Achilles' heel injury, it was an amazing getaway.

At the end of 2021, Katrina decided to change companies & Meta (then Facebook) requested that she relocate to the Bay Area for the job. Luckily, Sam had decided she was worth moving for and the whole family drove north together.

Their next trip was spent celebrating the 4th of July with family in Seattle before boarding a ferry north to Vancouver, BC. Without any injuries, the couple was able to spend more time on outdoor adventures like the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

After a year in the Bay both Sam & Katrina knew it was not where they wanted to live long term. Now that Katrina was working from home full time it was easier to make another move, and thankfully Sam was open to Katrina's dream of living in Seattle. They packed up their lives and caravanned north to the PNW for their next adventure.

Once settled into their new place, Sam & Katrina dove into the PNW lifestyle. They took up woodworking together, began exploring numerous hiking trails (many of which reminded them of Jurassic Park), and learned to take the ferries out to the islands.

Then, one sunny afternoon, Sam decided to take Katrina to Kerry Park to see the Space Needle. She was a little confused because it was lunch time, and Sam never skips a meal... She was even more confused when Sam's usual perfect parking left the car half perched on the curb. Everything became very clear though when Sam got down on one knee to ask if she would marry him. Obviously the answer was 'Yes!'
